Fort
Thomas Matters has been keeping you up to date on the city’s upcoming Independence Day festivities, and Tower Park is certainly the place
to be the afternoon of July 4th. Along with the many
activities taking place at Tower Park, the Michael Bradford Memorial
Cornhole Tournament is not to be missed.

Ft.
Thomas resident Michael Bradford was tragically killed in 2013 while
working in Afghanistan. Bradford was a beloved member of the Fort Thomas community, and a true American hero. Bradford is often
remembered by friends and family for his sense of humor,
intelligence, and love for the game of cornhole. Since Fort Thomas
has been hosting cornhole tournaments on July 4th for the
past few years, Bradford’s family and friends saw this as the perfect
opportunity to honor his memory. Bradford’s twin brothers, Chris and
Kenny, have taken the lead on making this year’s tournament a
success.


Participating
in this year’s tournament is not only a great way to honor Bradford,
but it will also help to ensure that the tournament continues to be
sponsored by the American Cornhole Organization (ACO) for years to
come. Organizers are hoping that participants will fill the entire 40
slots available for the tournament. Having 40 teams compete would
likely bring the ACO back to Fort Thomas again next year for what
will hopefully become an annual tournament in Bradford’s memory.

    2:30-2:55

  • Bags
    Fly at 3:00PM runs until approximately 7:00PM

  • United
    Property Group is sponsoring a $500.00 GUARANTEED PURSE

  • Money
    to be paid out day of the event by United Property Group

  • Maximum
    team participation 40 teams of 2 people

  • Cost
    per team entry is $25.00 in advance, walk ups welcome if space
    available for $40.00

  • Tournament
    will be formatted with a single game double elimination mini bracket
    consisting of up to 5 teams on a court, total of 8 courts set up

  • The
    eight (8) mini bracket winning teams will advance to the MONEY ROUND
    ELITE EIGHT and are guaranteed a minimum of $25.00 in winnings

  • ELITE
    EIGHT money round will be a single game single elimination event

  • There
    will be no seeding in either the qualifier or the final tournament,
    teams will be randomly placed in brackets or seeded

  • $500.00
    Guaranteed Purse, sponsored and paid out by United Property Group
    will be awarded: 1st = $200.00 / 2nd = $100.00 / Top Four = $50.00 /
    Top Eight = $25.00

    for a pair of Golden Tickets for the ACO World Championships of
