A Kenton County man had died from a flu-related illness, the Northern Kentucky Health Department reported this week.
He is the fifth Northern Kentucky flu-related death of the season.
Kentucky is reporting flu at the sporadic level, meaning that small numbers of flu cases or a single outbreak has been reported, but there is no increase in cases of flu statewide.
Northern Kentucky has had 1,253 cases reported though March 29.
That number is down from last year’s record-breaking flu season in which 3,492 cases were reported and eight people died.
