HHS to Present The Sound of Music in April

Students from Highlands High School’s Theatre
Department will perform The Sound of Music. Based on a true story, The
Sound of Music is the masterful retelling of the Family von Trapp
singers with memorable music from Rodgers and Hammerstein.

  

Highlands’ production stars Abi Moore as Maria
and Josty Sieverding as Captain von Trapp. The von Trapp family singers include
Madeline Anderson as Liesl, Payton Epperson as Friedrich, Rachel Zimmerman as
Louisa, Sam Burnham as Kurt, Michelle Chalk as Brigitta, McKenna Pinkston as
Marta and Caroline Slaby as Gretl.

FTM collaborated with the YouTube channel, Camera Behind the Curtain to document the practice and preparation that goes into a Highlands theatrical production. The videos catch actors blocking their scenes, practicing lines, dress rehearsals and more. The videos are shot by the lead, Abi Moore, and are produced by avid vlogger, Laura Petracco. Thursday April 24 – 7:30 p.m. – Opening Night

Friday, April 25 – 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 26 – 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, April 27 – 2:00 p.m. – Closing

The production will
take place at the Highlands High School Performing Arts Center

Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.
Tickets are reserved seating only. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets in

Any remaining unreserved tickets can be purchased at the door one hour prior to
each show.
