The Northern Kentucky Education Council and Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the first ever Northern Kentucky Has Talent contest. Students in Northern Kentucky are invited to submit a video showcasing their talents directly related to college and career readiness. Finalists will have to opportunity to be featured at the annual Excellence in Education Celebration, which will be held March 27, 2014 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

The video contest is open to all preschool, kindergarten, elementary, secondary and postsecondary students in Boone, Campbell, Kenton, Grant, Gallatin and Pendleton Counties. Videos must feature a talent or skill in visual and performing arts, or science, technology, engineering or math.

Entries may be submitted via the Northern Kentucky Education Council’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NKYEC. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm on January 31, 2014. Voting will occur from February 10-21, 2014 and finalists will be announced by February 28. Finalist will be selected in each of the following grade level divisions: Pre-school-3rd Grade, 4th Grade-8th Grade, 9th Grade-12th Grade, and Postsecondary and will be featured at the 2014 Excellence in Education Celebration in front of approximately 800 attendees.

The Excellence in Education Celebration is an annual event that recognizes students, educators, community and business leaders for their significant contributions toward education.
