Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is confirmed to speak at the Kentucky Young Democrats Convention in Covington, the group confirmed on Facebook Monday.
The state’s Young Democrats will host their convention at the RiverCenter Marriott in Downtown Covington from January 31 to February 2.
Grimes is the likely Democratic nominee for the US Senate Seat held by Republican Mitch McConnell.Â
Polls show the race as a toss-up currently. McConnell faces a primary challenge from businessman Matt Bevin in May.
The full schedule of the convention is still being worked out but the opening reception is scheduled for Friday, January 31 from 7 – 10 p.m. with activities on Saturday and Sunday.
The cost to attend is $35 before January 15 and $40 afterwards. On-site registration is $50. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and lunch on Saturday are included in the price.
