A man will appear in Kenton County Court this morning facing a charge of murder.
Matthew “Matty” Smith, 25, was arrested Wednesday after a man was stabbed to death in Independence.
WLWT reports that the victim, a 39-year old man, was found around 7 a.m. in the backyard of a home on England Road, following a party.
WXIX reports that a confrontation broke out at the home at around 5:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
Smith is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
He is being held at the Kenton County Detention Center without bond.
