August sixth was a
terrifying day for a promising young woman. Alisha Waters was attacked by her
estranged husband as she arrived to work that Tuesday morning. Alisha survived
the attack, but she was shot multiple times. As expected, the medical bills for
Alisha are compounding daily, which has inspired certain businesses and individuals to step up and lend a helping hand.

I was made aware that an
Alexandria restaurant that has direct connection to Alisha is also accepting
donations that will go towards helping with her medical bills. Mr. Herbs, a wonderful restaurant
located in The Village Green in Alexandria, Kentucky, is taking donations to
help Alisha in her recovery. I contacted Linda, a manager at Mr. Herbs, and she
confirmed that donations are currently being accepted. She advised me that her
husband, Terry Waters, who is the manager of the restaurant, is Alisha’s
father. The restaurant “family” was horrified by the events of that August morning,
and they wanted to help Alisha every way they could.

Linda continued, “Alisha
grew up in Ludlow, Kentucky so we thought it was only appropriate to have a
benefit for her in her home town. There will be a fundraiser on October 19 at
the Ludlow Vets. We are hoping that a lot of people will come out for a good
night and help support Alisha.”

I wanted to shine a big
spotlight on these great benefits for such a deserving person. We usually
preach shop local, but this time I want to encourage all of our readers to
venture to Alexandria to have some great fish and help support Alisha Waters.
Also mark you calendars for October 19 for the Ludlow Vets benefit in Alisha’s
honor. The Bank of Kentucky in Fort Thomas is still accepting donations for their fund dedicated to Alisha as well. Mr. Herbs website can be viewed here.

Get well Alisha! FTM is
rooting for you!
