There are multiple warnings and watches in effect for the Northern Kentucky area issued by the National Weather Service.
A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties in Northern Kentucky and Hamilton County in Ohio.
Radar indicates that one to two inches of rain have fallen and continues to fall with another two inches possible. Runoff from the rainfall could cause flash flooding to occur particularly in Bellevue, Burlington, Covington. Crescent Springs, Crestview Hills, Dayton, and Downtown Cincinnati, the NWS said.
A Flash Flood Watch for the same areas is in effect until midnight.
A Flood Advisory has also been issued for the area until 6:15 p.m. Minor flooding of low lying and poorly drained streets, highways, and underpasses will occur, the NWS reported. In addition, farmland near creeks, streams, and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.
Meanwhile, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until midnight.Â
