Mike Arnzen, emceeing the event, as two-time champ Joe Peter looks on. FTM provided The Olde Fort Pub a divotcard as part of the treasure trove of prizes awarded to the winner.

I shouldn’t have eaten lunch and/or had 3 cocktails before the competition.

Mark vs. Food, volume 5 is in the books and while FTM wasn’t there in a fund raising capacity, I felt I should try to shed my 2-2 on 2nd place finishes and finally get off the schneid. The 6th Annual Olde Fort Pub came and went, and for the third time (and two consecutively) Joe Peter got his name written on the Olde Fort Pub Hot Dog Eating Jug.

“I really wasn’t feeling well,” said Joe, who was taking a nap in his car pre-competition. “I was just happy I got it done.”

Joe ate 10 dogs and buns in 9 minutes. I came in 2nd – for the 3rd time – with 9 hot dogs.

The Olde Fort Pub annual hot dog eating competition is becoming apart of Fort Thomas 4th of July lore. With that I’ll say that I’m retiring again, but we all know that’s not true.
