Mother-daughter duo and Cobblestone café owners Jen Black and Brenda Spade recently announced their plans to retire.

Black and Spade announced their plans over Facebook on July 19. Spade founded the restaurant at 654 Highland Ave. in Fort Thomas in 2005. Her daughter joined the operation after she finished college and the pair have successfully run the business for the past 17 years.

They announced their “bittersweet” news with customers, sharing that Spade would retire and Black was leaving the business to focus on her family.

“We have loved getting to know so many wonderful people over the years. The support you have given us is unmatched, and we couldn’t have asked to be part of a better community,” the two shared on Facebook.

Although Spade and Black are leaving Cobblestone Café,The business will remain open. The post said they are looking for the right person to continue their business model of “the food you know and love.”

They ask for serious business inquiries to message them if interested.

For now, Cobblestone Café will continue to operate during its regular business hours, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
