Northern Kentucky cities are hosting various Independence Day celebrations, including runs, parades and concerts, with fireworks shows and live music starting on July 3 and continuing through July 6.

Independence passes budget for next year, sets aside money for possible splash pad
The Independence City Council voted to enact the budget for the next fiscal year and preliminarily set aside funds for the possibility of a splash pad at Memorial Park. Council Members Carol Franzen and Greg Steffen will give a presentation on splash pads at the council meeting in July.
