The Ryle Raiders knocked off both Indian Hill (Ohio) and McCracken County to conclude the regular season at home Saturday.
Ryle (21-12) bested McCracken County, 2-0 (25-17, 27-25). The Raiders had 28 kills, 28 assists, 34 digs, four aces and one block.
Kiana Dinn led the Raiders with 11 kills and nine assists with Lucy Trapp digging up 10 balls to go with seven kills and two aces. Morgan Heater had 14 assists with Alexis Woolf and Olivia Karolsky digging up seven balls each.
The Raiders also beat Indian Hill, 3-1 (25-15, 24-26, 25-13, 25-19). The Raiders had 70 digs, 57 kills, 57 assists, nine aces and one block. Heater had 26 assists, 16 digs and two aces with Merisa Workman contibuting 18 assists. Woolf dug up 16 balls and Trapp had 12 digs, 11 kills and three aces. Dinn had 19 kills and nine assists. Karlosky also had 12 digs and two aces.
“I feel like we played more as a team (Saturday),” said Tasha Lovins, Ryle Head Coach. “We had a lot more talking going on. If there was an error, we seemed to bounce back quicker.”
Conner (26-7) also took down McCracken County (20-7) at Ryle on Saturday, 2-1 (25-16, 15-25, 25-12). The Cougars had 26 kills, 23 assists, 35 digs, 11 blocks and seven aces in the win.
Anna Hamilton and Aubrey Depenbrock started things with nine digs each and Depenbrock added 11 assists. Jordan Ransdell had eight assists. Lilly Hamburg and Peyton Walker had 11 and eight kills respectively to go with three blocks each. Hamburg and Bailey Morris had two aces each with Jordan Potter adding three assisted blocks. Maddie Leiprecht had six digs and Carly Nehus dug up six to go with three kills and McKenzie Deatherage had four kills.
Cooper (14-18) went 1-1 in the Kentucky Showcase on Saturday at Paul Laurence Dunbar beating Tates Creek, 2-1 (25-22, 20-25, 15-7) and losing to West Jessamine, 2-0 (25-13, 25-19). Cooper had 31 kills, 62 digs, 24 assists, six aces and six blocks against Tates Creek.
Makenna Depue had 12 digs and two aces with Audrey Schilling recording 11 kills and 10 digs against Tates Creek. Jill Puckett had 11 digs and six kills. Sadie Smith dished out 21 assists to go with nine digs and Addy Warth had 11 digs. Carly Schroder had six kills and three with Morgan Brown recording four kills.
Cooper had 13 kills, 13 assists, 35 digs, three blocks and two aces against West Jessamine. Schilling and Warth tied for the team lead with eight digs and Schilling had a team-high four kills. Smith had seven assists and Depue had six.
All three play in the 33rd District semifinals on Tuesday at Boone County. Ryle takes on either Heritage Academy (6-20) or Boone County (8-23) at 6 p.m. before Cooper and Conner square off at 7:15 p.m.
