The first and second round of the KHSAA state tennis tournament got underway on Tuesday at the University of Kentucky for the boys and Eastern Kentucky University for the girls.
The action continues on Wednesday with the field of 64 in boys singles and doubles and girls singles and doubles whittled down to 16, the round of 16 and quarterfinals played on Wednesday, the semifinals and championship played on Thursday at University of Kentucky for all four tournaments.
Northern Kentucky had several participants in the tournament with quite a few snagging a victory or two on their way to the round of 16.
