The Kentucky Prep Softball East/West All-Star series will take place June 20-22 at Bowling Green High School and two Northern Kentucky players were selected for it.
Highlands’ Kaitlyn Dixon and Simon Kenton’s Larkin Mitchell were selected to the game while Simon Kenton head coach Chris Young was selected to be an assistant.
Dixon will represent the East Junior All-Stars, Mitchell the West Senior All-Stars while Young will be an assistant for the West Senior All-Star team.

Dixon was the co-NKSCA Division II Player of the Year, going 22-3 in the circle with a 1.18 ERA. She struck out 295 batters in 166.1 innings pitched. She hit .390 at the plate and was second on the team in RBI with 38. She knocked 12 doubles and three home runs.
Mitchell hit .537 for the Lady Pioneers and led the team in at-bats (95), tied for the team lead in runs (42), first in hits (51) and second in stolen bases (11).

Young guided the Lady Pioneers to a 22-6 record which included a 18-game winning streak.
After practice sessions on the 20th, the West Seniors will play the West Juniors at 9 a.m. on the 21st, the East Seniors facing off against the East Juniors at 11 a.m.
The Kentucky Softball Coaches Association will present Miss Kentucky Softball and All-State awards after the games.
The East Juniors will then play the West Seniors at 1:30 p.m. with the East Seniors playing the West Juniors at 3:30 p.m.
A Hall of Fame inductee recognition will take place that night, Madisonville-North Hopkin’s Mallory Peyton, Warren East’s Katie Gardner and McCracken County’s Lindsey Carroll the inductees.
On Sunday the 22nd, the East Seniors will play the West Seniors at 12 p.m., the East Juniors facing the West Juniors to follow at 2:30 p.m.
