The Cooper Jaguars softball team (13-4) still has a chance at the top seed in the district tournament.
The Jaguars started the second go-round of seed play completing a sweep of the Boone County Rebels (5-11), holding on for a 7-6 win. Cooper is 3-1 in 33rd District seed play for second behind Ryle and Boone County is third at 1-3.
The Jaguars batted .345 (10 for 29) overall in the win. Junior Maddie Childress led the way going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, one run batted in and one run scored. Junior second baseman Ava Scott went 2-for-4 with one run scored and freshman catcher Kaitlyn Furnish went 2-for-4.
Senior Kendall Blau (9-3) pitched a complete game, striking out two, walking four and allowing three earned runs. Blau also had a double at the plate.
Boone County batted .250 (7 for 28) overall. Sophomore pitcher Dani Wright (5-10) pitched a complete game striking out six, walking three and allowing five earned runs. She went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and junior Josie Hollingsworth went 2-for-3.
Cooper plays host to Bryan Station (10-7) on Friday at 6 p.m. Boone County plays host to Grant County (6-10) at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The Bearcats (13-3) downed the Highlanders (8-9) in the All “A” state sectional game. The win lifts the Bearcats to the All “A” State quarterfinal game at host Campbellsville (15-5) on April 29 at 3 p.m.
Walton-Verona batted an impressive .361 (13 for 36) overall. Senior designated hitter Jimmy Shields led the way going 3-for-5 with a double, four RBI and scored once. Senior center fielder Ethan Mills went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Junior Bryce Corpus went 2- for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored with senior catcher Ethan Hager going 2-for-4 with a double.
Junior Mason Howard (5-0) pitched into the sixth inning picking up the win, striking out seven, walking one and allowing five earned runs and eight hits. Corpus finished the game walking one and allowing one hit.
Walton-Verona plays host to Dixie Heights (7-12) at 5 p.m. on Friday.
