Three Northern Kentucky teams in the top 10, four in the top 15, five in the top 20 and six in the top 25 in the latest Kentucky High School Girls Soccer Coaches Association poll.

The poll, released on Monday has Simon Kenton No. 3, Notre Dame Academy No. 7, Bishop Brossart No. 8, Conner No. 15, Cooper No. 19 and Beechwood No. 23.

Sacred Heart received 29 of the 31 first-place votes, No. 2 Lexington Catholic and Simon Kenton also receiving a first-place vote. The Lady Pioneers still hold an undefeated record at 10-0-1 on the season. They open the Lexington Catholic Tournament with a top five matchup against Paul Laurence Dunbar on Tuesday night. Dunbar is undefeated as well with a 10-0-1 record.

Rounding out the top five is Assumption in fourth and Dunbar fifth.

A total of 31 girls soccer coaches across the state participated in the voting. The KHSAA soccer postseason starts the week of Oct. 6 with district tournaments.
