Scores in the 60’s and low 70’s were rolling in on Thursday at Hickory Sticks Golf Course for the Beechwood Invitational.

A handful of those scores came from St. Henry’s boys golf team as they shot a program record 282 for first place. It was the Crusaders third win of the young season.

The Carter twins continued to play well, St. Henry’s Ben Carter shot a 68 and finished third, Will Carter shot a 69 and finished fourth. Rounding out the scoring for the Crusaders was Will Hammond with a 71, Parker Isaacs, Jake Montgomery and Charlie Bihl all shooting 74’s. Bihl played as an individual. Hammond was the third of three St. Henry golfers to finish in the top 10, placing in a tie for seventh.

A Highlands pair who have also got off to hot starts to the season finished 1-2 individually. Hank Shick was the medalist with a 66, Nate Surrey runner-up with a 67. The Bluebirds shot 293 as a team to finish third, losing out on a tiebreaker to South Warren for second. Alex Race came in with a 79, Oliver Golden and James Kuhn with 81’s.

Campbell County’s Talen Beane tied for fifth with a 70. Bishop Brossart’s Luke Bertsch tied for ninth with a 72.

Par was 71 on the day.
