Week 6 LINK nky Pick ’em

Week 6 is here!

This year at LINK nky, we decided to add some fun to our football coverage. We’re going to do a weekly picks contest with the three of the sports writers (Evan Dennison, Ray Schaefer and Josh Kalb) we have here and throw in a little twist…a guest picker each week. The guest picker will most likely be someone you recognize as a member of our community, whether it be someone who is on the sidelines with us, sports TV personalities, former coaches or players or someone who may not even be entrenched in the sports scene, but still invested in our communities to some capacity.

We’ve got a tie! Evan has climbed his way back from Josh’s early season lead as both sit at 38-12 on the year. Guest pickers are four games behind while Ray is five out. Our guest picker Brendan Connelly of the Cincinnati Enquirer went 7-3 last week to tie Evan and Ray for the week while Josh went 6-4.

This week we have Ben Brown. After graduating from Morehead State and playing Division I football, Ben has been a coach in NKY for 25 years between his alma mater Boone County and Cooper. He currently works at Cooper as the Youth Service Center Coordinator. Ben’s son Isaac graduated from Cooper in 2025 and plays football at the Division I level at Southeast Missouri State. His daughter Lilli is a freshman at Cooper and plays on the volleyball team, leading the team in assists. After being the Jaguars defensive coordinator for years, he’s currently on a coaching hiatus.
