The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. Starting next week, the poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.

Going from Class 6A on down to 1A, seven Northern Kentucky teams made their respective top 10’s. Ryle is at No. 3 in the 6A poll, Cooper is No. 5 in 5A, Highlands is No.3, Covington Catholic No. 6 in 4A, Lloyd Memorial comes in at No. 7 in 3A with reigning champ Beechwood No. 1 in 2A. Holy Cross is the lone 1A team ranked, coming in at No. 9. Simon Kenton and Campbell County (6A), Conner, Boone County and Scott (5A), Newport, Newport Central Catholic and Bishop Brossart (1A) are in the others receiving votes category for their respective class.
