The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. The poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.

In the third edition of the media poll, going from Class 6A on down to 1A, seven northern Kentucky teams remained ranked in their respective class, with four others receiving votes. Ryle jumped up to a tie for 6th in the 6A poll, jumping two spots after their overtime win over Highlands. Cooper remained No. 2 in the 5A poll, picking up seven first-place votes, two off from Bowling Green. Highlands dropped a spot to No. 4. Covington Catholic remained at No. 5 in 4A, Beechwood staying put at No. 2 in 2A and picking up five first-place votes. Newport Central Catholic dropped a spot to No. 6 after their loss to Conner, Newport moving up to No. 9 after improving to 3-0 with a win over Boone County.

Simon Kenton (6A), Lloyd Memorial (3A), Bishop Brossart (1A) and Ludlow (1A) appeared in the others receiving votes category.
