Holy Cross High School named Curt Spencer as its next head football coach on Wednesday.

Spencer has been on the Holy Cross staff for at least 10 years and led the middle school program for the last two years. His familiarity with the program helped the decision.

“The decision came down to familiarity among the school, players, parents and Holy Cross community,” the school stated in a press release. “Curt is passionate about the game of football and has earned great respect in the football community.”

Spencer has been a high school official from 2008-17, a current board member of the NKY football league and was the linebackers coach for Holy Cross from 2017-21 and helped revitalize the middle school program, winning the eighth grade championship this past season.

Spencer succeeds former Holy Cross coach Bruce Kozerski, who stepped down from the position in December. Kozerski, a former Bengals offensive lineman, was the Holy Cross head coach for 20 seasons.

“I look forward to continue to build the program and working with the Holy Cross community,” Spencer said in the press release.
