The Northern Kentucky women’s basketball team once again fell behind in the first half and could not recover despite a valiant effort in the 67-55 loss at Detroit on Monday.

The improved Titans built a 36-20 halftime lead and held on in the second half to move to 3-0 in Horizon League play and drop the Norse to 0-3. Northern Kentucky lost both league games in Michigan in the four-day stretch.

The Norse had two players combine for 39 points. Freshman center Carter McCray recorded another double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds and Kailee Davis scored 16. Noelle Hubert and Allison Bayse followed with nine and eight, respectively.

Northern Kentucky struggled to stop Detroit’s Emma Trawally-Porta, who finished with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Irene Murua followed with 15 points.

Northern Kentucky (2-10) hosts Green Bay on Friday at 7 p.m.
