Bishop Brossart girls’ basketball coach Steve Brown calls it “an unbelievable opportunity that I cannot pass up.”
The Lady ‘Stangs head coach informed the school on Friday that he is resigning from the position to take a college coaching opportunity at Thomas More University to be an assistant coach with the women’s program.
“On behalf of the entire Bishop Brossart Community, we would like to extend a gratitude of thanks to Coach Brown for his time, commitment and unwavering dedication to the girls basketball program over the past three seasons and wish him the very best in his future coaching endeavors,” the school released on Friday.
In his tenure, Brown coached the Lady ‘Stangs for three seasons and guided them to a 66-29 record, two 37th District titles and a region runner-up finish this past season. He won KABC Coach of the Year in 2023 and ’25. Brown also guided the Lady ‘Stangs to 10th Region All “A” titles in 2023 and ’25 with a state semifinal appearance this past season.
Prior to being at Brossart, Brown coached the Scott High girls’ program for three seasons from 2019-2022.
