While the Northern Kentucky seniors were shut out, either by choice or not being selected, five juniors from NKY will represent the state for the Kentucky-Indiana All-Star basketball game to be played June 1 and 2.

Three on the girls team features Highlands’ Marissa Green, Newport Central Catholic’s Caroline Eaglin and Notre Dame’s Sophia Gibson.

Two on the boys team features Lloyd Memorial’s EJ Walker and Walton-Verona’s Aaron Gutman.

Green led the Bluebirds in scoring and rebounding in a standout junior season with 15.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.

Eaglin has led the 9th Region in scoring the past two seasons and poured in 21.9 points per game during the 2023-24 season.

Gibson averaged 13.1 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Pandas this past season.

Walker holds nearly 30 offers for the next level and most recently whittled his list down to 10 schools. As a junior, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 16.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

Gutman led the Bearcats in scoring and field goal percentage for the 2023-24 season and was second in rebounds. He averaged 21 points per game, shot 52% from the field and pulled down 6.2 rebounds per contest for the 23-11 Bearcats.

They will play Kentucky seniors June 1 at Eastern High School in Louisville and Indiana’s juniors June 2 at Scottsburg High School in Indianapolis.

The KY/IN All Star Game was established in 1940 and is the longest running All-Star series of its kind. The seniors will play a home and home on June 7 at Lexington Catholic High School and June 8 at Gainbridge Arena in Indianapolis.
