Host Covington Catholic won its fourth straight to move to 8-1 in 9th Region play with a 77-55 victory over Ryle.

The Colonels shot 55% from the field including 50% from three-point range in the win and outrebounded the Raiders, 36-28. Caden Miller led CovCath with a double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds to go with three blocked shots.

CovCath put four players in double figures. Athens McGillis scored 16 points to follow Miller with Cash Harney and Brady Hussey scoring 12 and 10, respectively.

Grady Reynolds had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Ryle. Anthony Coppola and Landon Lorms followed scoring 13 and 11 points, respectively.

CovCath (19-5) travels to rival Holy Cross on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. 35th District battle.

Ryle (14-8) hosts Scott on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Pioneers finished 2-1 in district seed play clinching no lower than the second seed in the 32nd District Tournament with the road win.

Jay Bilton scored 18 points to lead the Pioneers and Travis Krohman scored 14.

Simon Kenton (10-13) hosts Campbell County on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Cooper 64, Mason County 45

The Jaguars took down the Royals in the 9th vs. 10th Hardwood Classic at Augusta for a non-region win.

Cooper led 21-13 after the first quarter, then 28-23 at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter. Shaun Pouncy and Isaiah Johnson led the Jaguars scoring 19 points each.

Cooper (16-7) has won seven in a row. The Jaguars play at Newport Central Catholic on Saturday.

Campbell County 83, Nicholas County 43

The Campbell County boys bounced back from a couple of losses with a 10th Region home win.

Campbell County shot 49% from the field in the win and grabbed 36 rebounds. Broc Sorgenfrei led the way with 19 points. Connor Weinel and Garyn Jackson followed with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Weinel led the Camels with nine rebounds.

Campbell County (15-6) travels to Simon Kenton on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Crusaders knocked off the Panthers in a key 34th District seed game.

Kayla Unkraut again led St. Henry scoring 18 points and Taylor Hill scored 11.

Ludlow put four players in double figures. Prestyn King and Cheree Pence scored 11 points each with Addy Garrett and Olivia King scoring 10 each.

St. Henry (12-9) hosts Lloyd Memorial on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Ludlow (14-10) hosts Bellevue on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Lloyd Memorial 53, Augusta 50

The Juggernauts edged the Panthers in the 9th vs 10th Hardwood Classic on Augusta’s home floor.

Emmie Litton led the way with 13 points. Kenya Williams and Maleah Ham followed scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Lloyd Memorial (10-12) has won four of its last five games. The Juggernauts travel to St. Henry on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
