The Holy Cross boys basketball team has put together a solid start to the season and the Indians continued it with a tight 58-55 road win at Conner.

Nate Rominger led the Indians with 20 points and Luke Arlinghaus scored 19. William McElheney added 14.

Finn Louden and Landon Warner scored 13 to lead Conner. Three others scored eight.

Holy Cross (9-3) hosts Lloyd Memorial on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Conner (3-9) travels to Campbell County on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Boys Basketball

Campbell County 79, Bracken County 33

The Camels dominated the 10th Region road contest.

Broc Sorgenfrei led the Camels with 11 points. Connor Weinel and Xavier Francher followed with 10 each.

Campbell County (9-2) hosts Augusta on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Walton-Verona 88, Trimble County 34

Julian Dixon scored 25 points, Aaron Gutman added 18 and the Bearcats won the 8th Region All “A” quarterfinal matchup over the Raiders.

Thirteen different Bearcats (11-4) scored in the victory as they’ll host Eminence in Thursday’s semifinals at 7:30 p.m.

Holmes 66, Bishop Brossart 59

The Bulldogs got their first win of the season with a road victory in Alexandria.

Mark McCuthcin had 29 points, Dominic Scott with 18, McCutchin’s big night also including 15 of the team’s 28 rebounds.

Homes (1-7) plays at Grayson County on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Parker Mulberry led the Mustangs (3-9) with 20 points. Domyniq Hadden added 13 with 10 rebounds. Brossart returns to action on Friday in the 10th Region All “A” Classic tournament at Nicholas County against the Bluejackets at 7:30 p.m.

Girls Basketball

Campbell County 49, Augusta 39

The Camels displayed their balance in the 10th Region road win.

Four Camels hit double digits as Madeleine Barbian led Campbell County with 12 points and Alli Collins scored 11. Macie Peoples and Faith Whitford scored 10 points each.

Campbell County (10-2) travels to Harrison County on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

Beechwood 52, Dayton 31

The Tigers advanced in the All “A” 9th Region Tournament at Newport Central Catholic behind 23 points from Gia Jones.

Beechwood (5-7) takes on Holy Cross in the semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m. back at Newcath.
