Here’s your guide to every Northern Kentucky team playing where over the next two weeks for holiday tournaments.
Beechwood
Boys – The Tigers will play at Williamstown (Dec. 19) and host Cincinnati Country Day (Dec. 23) pre-Christmas before heading to the Battle on the River presented by Peoples Bank at Lewis County Dec. 28-30. They open up with Williamsburg in that in a field that consists of Iroquois, Lewis County, Bellevue, Anderson County, Nicholas County and Elliott County.
Girls – The Lady Tigers will play two games prior to Christmas, home games against Ludlow on Dec. 19 and Dominion Academy (Ohio) on Dec. 23. After Christmas, they’ll play in the Stephanie Wilson Memorial Tournament at Bellevue Dec. 28-30. They open with Lloyd Memorial on the 28th. The eight-team field features Ludlow, Newport Central Catholic, Dayton, Augusta, Bellevue and a team not listed on the KHSAA website.
Bellevue
Boys – Bellevue will open up their Christmas break with a 36th District game with Dayton on Dec. 18. The Tigers will then play in a pre and post Christmas tournament. The first one is the Redmond Auto Group Holiday Classic at Bell County that runs Dec. 20-22. They open that on Dec. 20 against Jackson County. Other teams in the field are Scott County, Owsley County, Lynn Camp, Barbourville, Cumberland Gap (TN) and the host Bell County.
They’ll then play in the Battle on the River presented by Peoples Bank at Lewis County Dec. 28-30, opening up with Anderson County. The field there includes Beechwood, Williamstown, Iroquois, Lewis County, Nicholas County and Elliott County.
Girls – The Lady Tigers will play three games prior to Christmas, at Boone County on Dec. 19, then host Highlands and Holmes on back-to-back days Dec. 21 and 22. They’ll then host the Stephanie Wilson Memorial Tournament Dec. 28-30 in a field with Beechwood, Lloyd Memorial, Dayton, Augusta, Ludlow, Newport Central Catholic and a team not listed on the KHSAA website.
Bishop Brossart
Boys – Pre-Christmas the Mustangs will play at Pendelton County (Dec. 20) and host Bourbon County (Dec. 20). Post Christmas they’ll head to Richmond to play in Madison Central’s Richmond Car and Truck Holiday Classic from Dec. 27-29. The Mustangs will open up with the host Indians in a field that consists of Green County, Marshall County, South Laurel, North Hardin, Lincoln County and George Rogers Clark.
Girls – The Lady ‘Stangs play in the Queen City Christmas Classic Dec. 21-22 at Archbishop McNicholas in Ohio. They play the hosts on the 21st and then face Ursuline Academy on the 22nd. They’ll then play in the Ryan Keeton ExP Realty Ohio River Classic at Raceland Dec. 28-30. They open up with the host Raceland on the 28th. The eight-team field consists of Belfry, Elliott County, Magoffin County, Nicholas County, East Carter and a team not listed on the KHSAA website.
Boone County
Boys – The Rebels open up Christmas break with a road game at Holy Cross (Dec. 19) before they head to Franklin County for the Capital City Classic Holiday Tournament that runs Dec. 20-22. They open up with the host Franklin County in a field that features West Jessamine, Western Hills, Ludlow, Bryan Station, Frankfort and South Oldham.
After Christmas, Boone County heads to Henry County for the Henry County Invitational Tournament Dec. 28-30, opening up with Thomas Nelson. The field consists of St. Mary, Dixie Heights, Marion County, South Oldham, Valley and Henry County.
Girls – The Lady Rebels play four games over Christmas break starting on Dec. 18 at Newport. They’ll host Bellevue on Dec. 19 and at Campbell County on Dec. 22. They have one game scheduled after Christmas, Dec. 28 at Woodford County.
Calvary Christian
The Cougars have a 37th District seed game at home with Campbell County (Dec. 18) and then play DePaul Christo Rey, Ohio (Dec. 21) prior to Christmas. After Christmas, Calvary will play in the Ray Zellar Christmas Classic at Whitefield Academy Dec. 27-29. The Cougars open up with the host in a field that consists of Trinity Christian, Cornerstone Christian, Villa Madonna, Leslie County, Cloverport and Eminence.
Campbell County
Boys – The Camels will play two games pre-Christmas before they head down to Maysville to play in the Mason County Invitational Tournament. Campbell County plays Calvary Christian in a 37th District seed contest on Dec. 18 and hosts Ashland on Dec. 21. The MCIT runs Dec. 28-30 and the Camels will open up with Pike County Central. The rest of the field features Augusta, Walton-Verona, Scott, North Oldham, Tates Creek and the host Mason County.
Girls – The Lady Camels play two games prior to Christmas, Dec. 18 at Bourbon County and a home game with Boone County on Dec. 22. They’ll then play in the Berea Holiday Classic Dec. 28-30 at Berea, opening up with Bryan Station on the 28th. Other teams in the field are Floyd Central, Boyle County, Clay County, Menifee County, Jackson County, Madison Southern, Wayne County, Somerset, Casey County and Berea.
Conner
Boys – The Cougars will play in the Scott Winter Classic Dec. 20-22. It’s not a tournament format, so they’ll play Aiken (Ohio) on the 20th, Simon Kenton on the 21st and Oldham County on the 22nd. After Christmas, they’ll play three games against Ohio opponents, Thomas Worthington on Dec. 27, Linden-McKinley on Dec. 28 and host Elder on Dec. 30.
Girls – The Lady Cougars play in the White, Greer and Maggard Holiday Classic Dec. 20-22 at Lexington Catholic, opening up with Frederick Douglass. Other teams in the field are Dixie Heights, Anderson County, Ashland, Male, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Mercy, Henry Clay, Frankfort, Southwestern, Christian Academy-Louisville, Ryle, George Rogers Clark, Shelby County and Lexington Catholic. After Christmas they’ll play in the Century Bank Holiday Classic at Anderson County Dec. 28-30, opening up with West Jessamine. The eight-team tournament field consists of Owen County, Bardstown, Great Crossing, Oldham County, Nelson County and the host Anderson County.
Cooper
Boys – The Jaguars will play in the Scott Winter Classic Dec. 20-22. They’ll face Oldham County on Dec. 20, Aiken (Ohio) on the 21st and Dixie Heights on the 22nd. Post Christmas they’ll play at the prestigious White, Greer and Maggard Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic. They’ll open up the 16-team tournament with Madison Southern on Dec. 27. If they win that, they’ll face the winner of Woodford County and Harrison County on the 28th. The tournament runs through the 30th.
Girls – The Lady Jaguars play in the prestigious Queen of the Commonweatlh at Bullitt East starting on Dec. 19. They open up with Owensboro Catholic. The field features Franklin County, Barren County, Meade County, Corbin, Bethlehem, Holy Cross, McCracken County, Taylor County, DuPont Manual, Boyd County, Bowling Green, Simon Kenton, Madisonville-North Hopkins and Bullitt East. They have three games after Christmas, two at home against Ashland and Boyd County on Dec. 27 and 28 and then a road game at Dixie Heights on Dec. 29.
Covington Catholic
The Colonels will play in the Queen City Holiday Classic in Cincinnati before Christmas and then will head down to Florida to play in the Battle at The Villages after Christmas. In the Queen City Holiday Classic, they’ll face Archbishop Hoban out of Akron on Dec. 21 and Archbishop McNicholas on Dec. 22 in the two-day classic. In Florida, they’ll start the three-day tournament on Dec. 28 with Florida State University High School.
Covington Latin
Boys – The Trojans have just one game scheduled over the Christmas break, Dec. 29 at Robertson County.
Girls – The Lady Trojans don’t have a game scheduled over Christmas break. They’ll return to action on Jan. 9 at home against St. Patrick.
Dayton
Boys – The Greendevils have just one game over Christmas break, Dec. 18 at Bellevue.
Girls – The Lady Devils have a home game with Pendleton County on Dec. 18 before they head to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic Dec. 20-22. They don’t have a first round opponent listed in the field that consists of Gallatin County, Carroll County, Middlesboro, Whitefield Academy, Jackson County, Pineville, Shelby Valley, Lafayette, Ohio County, Williamsburg, Breathitt County, Russell County, Garrard County, Franklin-Simpson, Trimble County, Washington (Tennessee), Station Camp (Tennessee), Chattanooga Christian (Tennessee), Baylor (Tennessee), Trion (Georgia), Wythe (Virginia), St. Joseph Central (West Virginia) and Silverdale Academy (Tennessee).
After Christmas, they’ll play in the Stephanie Wilson Memorial Tournament at Bellevue Dec. 28-30, opening up with Augusta. Other teams in the eight-team tournament are Beechwood, Lloyd Memorial, Ludlow, Newport Central Catholic and the host Bellevue with an opponent not listed.
Dixie Heights
Boys – The Colonels will play in the Scott Winter Classic Dec. 20-22, opening with the host Scott High. On Dec. 21 they’ll play Oldham County and then Cooper on the 22nd. After Christmas they’ll play in the Henry County Invitational Tournament Dec. 28-30, opening up with St. Mary. Other teams in the field are Marion County, South Oldham, Valley, Henry County, Boone County and Thomas Nelson.
Girls – The Lady Colonels will play in the White, Greer and Maggard Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic Dec. 20-23. They open up the 16-team tournament with Anderson County. The rest of the field consists of Ashland, Male, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Mercy, Henry Clay, Frankfort, Southwestern, Christian Academy-Louisville, Ryle, George Rogers Clark, Shelby County, Owsley County and Lexington Catholic. After Christmas, they have just one game, a home tilt with Cooper on Dec. 29.
Heritage Academy
The Eagles will play one game prior to Christmas against Whitefield Academy on Dec. 19 at home. They’ll then travel to Gatlinburg, Tennessee after Christmas to play in the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic on Dec. 27-29. The first round opponent is not listed on KHSAA.
Highlands
Boys – The Bluebirds will host a two-day Carespring Holiday Classic Dec. 22-23. They’ll face Walton-Verona on the 22nd, Ashland on the 23rd. Ashland and Eastern will also play on the 22nd, Walton-Verona and Eastern on the 23rd. After Christmas, Highlands will head to Pensacola, Florida to play Innisfree Hotels Pensacola Beach Classic Dec. 27-29. They’ll play Walker Valley (Tennessee) on the 27th, Starr’s Mill (Georgia) on the 28th, Aiken (Ohio) on the 29th.
Girls – The Bluebirds play just one game prior to Christmas, at Bellevue on Dec. 21. After Christmas they’ll head south to play in the Lady Invitational of the South at Allen County-Scottsville Dec. 27-30. They open up with Russell on Dec. 27 in a 16-team tournament format that consists of South Laurel, Taylor County, Franklin County, Metcalfe County, Montgomery County, Central Magnet School (Tennessee), Russellville, Westmoreland (Tennessee), Breckenridge County, Madison Central, Henderson County, Greenwood, Adair County and Allen County-Scottsville.
Holmes
Boys – The Bulldogs will come back after Christmas on a 16-day layoff to play in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry Dec. 28-30. They open up with the host Belfry on the 28th. Other teams in the field include Paintsville, Floyd Central, Menifee County, Huntington Expression Prep (West Virginia), Seton LaSalle (Pennsylvania) and Avon (Indiana).
Girls – The Lady Bulldogs have two games before Christmas, a home game with Gallatin County on Dec. 18 and a road game at Bellevue on Dec. 22. They’ll then play in the Pam Browning Holiday Classic at Carroll County Dec. 27-29. They open with host Carroll County in the eight-team tournament that also has Walton-Verona, Switzerland County (Indiana), Harrison County, Shawe Memorial (Indiana), Trimble County and Rowan County.
Holy Cross
Boys – The Indians will host two games prior to Christmas against Boone County on Dec. 19 and Bracken County Dec. 22. After Christmas, they’ll head to Estill County to play in the Railroad Classic Dec. 28-30, opening up with Wolfe County. Other teams in the field include Montgomery County, Magoffin County, Newport Central Catholic, Russell, Lafayette and the host Estill County.
Girls – Holy Cross will play in the prestigious Queen of the Commonwealth at Bullitt East Dec. 19-22, opening up with Bethlehem on Dec. 19 in a rematch of last season’s All “A” state championship game. The rest of the field in the 16-team tournament format features Owensboro Catholic, Cooper, Franklin County, Barren County, Meade County, Corbin, McCracken County, Taylor County, DuPont Manual, Boyd County, Bowling Green, Simon Kenton, Madisonville-North Hopkins and Bullitt East. After Christmas, they have one game scheduled against Butler on Dec. 28.
Lloyd Memorial
Boys – The Juggernauts will play in the Central Bank Jim Rose Classic at Lexington Christian Academy Dec. 19-21, opening up with the host LCA. The four-team filed also features Mercer County and Henderson County, the Juggernauts playing the two over the next two days on the 20th and 21st. They’ll also host Belmont (Ohio) on Dec. 23. After Christmas, Lloyd has just one game, hosting Hamilton (Ohio) on Dec. 28.
Girls – The girls team will play just one game prior to Christmas at Mason County on Dec. 20. After Christmas, they’ll participate in the Stephanie Wilson Memorial Tournament at Bellevue Dec. 28-30, opening up with Beechwood on Dec. 28. The rest of the field consists of Ludlow, Newport Central Catholic, Dayton, Augusta and Bellevue.
Ludlow
Boys – The Panthers will play in the Capital Classic Holiday Tournament in Frankfort Dec. 20-22, opening up with Bryan Station. Teams in the three-day tournament include Boone County, Franklin County, West Jessamine, Western Hills, South Oldham and the host Frankfort. After Christmas, they’ll play two road games at St. Henry (Dec. 27) and at Carroll County (Dec. 30).
Girls – The Lady Panthers play a pair of road games at Beechwood on Dec. 19 and at Bracken County on Dec. 22 prior to Christmas. After Christmas, they’ll play in the Stephanie Wilson Memorial Tournament Dec. 28-30, opening up with Newport Central Catholic. The rest of the field consists of Lloyd Memorial, Beechwood, Dayton, Augusta and Bellevue.
Newport
Boys – The Wildcats will play in the prestigious King of the Bluegrass tournament at Fairdale Dec. 20-23, opening up with Washington County. If they win that one, it could set up a matchup with one of the top teams in the state, Great Crossing on Dec. 21. After Christmas, they’ll head to the Ray Furney Holiday Classic in Lawrenceburg, Indiana from Dec. 29-30. They’ll play two games on the 29th against Indiana opponentes, one against Jennings County and the other New Palestine.
Girls – The Ladycats will play five games over Christmas break. It starts on Dec. 18 with a home game against Boone County and then another home tilt against Villa Madonna on Dec. 20. They play at Mason County on Dec. 22. They play Dec. 28 against Gallatin County and an opponent to be named on Dec. 29.
Newport Central Catholic
Boys – The Thoroughbreds will play in the Queen City Classic in Cincinnati Dec. 21-22 against two Ohio opponents, St. Charles on the 21st and Archbishop Hoban on the 22nd. After Christmas, they’ll head to the Railroad Classic at Estill County Dec. 28-30, starting out with Russell. Montgomery County, Magoffin County, Holy Cross, Wolfe County, Lafayette and host Estill County are in the field.
Girls – The girls team plays just one game prior to Christmas, a home game against Oldenburg Academy (Indiana) on Dec. 22. After Christmas, they’ll play in the Stephanie Wilson Memorial Tournament at Bellevue Dec. 28-30, opening up with Ludlow. The rest of the field consists of Lloyd Memorial, Beechwood, Dayton, Augusta and Bellevue.
Notre Dame
The Pandas will play in the Queen City Christmas Classic in Cincinnati Dec. 21-22. They face Ursuline Academy on Dec. 21 and Archbishop McNicholas on Dec. 22. After Christmas, they’ll head down to Nashville and play in the Zaxby’s Christmas Classic at Christ Presbyterian Academy Dec. 28-30, opening up with Siegel (Tennessee) on the 28th.
Ryle
Boys – The Raiders will play in the Beth Haven Holiday Classic Dec. 21-23, opening up with Bullitt Central. The three day classic is not a tournament, they’ll play Atherton on the 22nd and Thomas Nelson on the 23rd.
Girls – The Lady Raiders head to Lexington Catholic for the White, Greer and Maggard Holiday Classic Dec. 21-23. They’ll open up the 16-team tournament with Male on the 21st. The rest of the field consists of Dixie Heights, Anderson County, Conner, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Mercy, Ashland, Henry Clay, Frederick Douglass, Christian Academy-Louisville, Southwestern Frankfort, George Rogers Clark and Lexington Catholic.
Scott
Boys – The Eagles will host the Scott Winter Classic Dec. 20-22, opening up with Dixie Heights on the 20th. They’ll face Collins on the 21st and Aiken (Ohio) on the 22nd. After Christmas, the Eagles will head to the Mason County Invitational Tournament Dec. 28-30. They open the eight-team tournament format with North Oldham on the 28th. Other teams in the field are Tates Creek, Augusta, Walton-Verona, Pike County Central, Campbell County and the host Mason County.
Girls – After a road game at Augusta on Dec. 19, the Lady Eagles will play in the Clark’s Pump-N-Shop Swishmas Tournament at Tates Creek Dec. 20-22. They open with the host Tates Creek on the 20th. The rest of the field consists of Danville, Central, North Hardin, Ballard, Knox Central and Pleasure Ridge Park. After Christmas, Scott heads to Garrard County for the 4 Bank Winter Classic Dec. 28-30, opening up with Mercer County on the 28th. The rest of the field consists of Estill County, Hazard, Collins, Holy Cross (Louisville), East Jessamine and Garrard County.
Simon Kenton
Boys – The Pioneers play in the Scott Winter Classic at Scott High Dec. 20-22. They face Moore on the 20th, Conner on the 21st and Fern Creek on the 22nd. The Pioneers don’t have a game on the KHSAA scheduled after Christmas.
Girls – The Lady Pioneers play in the prestigious Queen of the Commonwealth at Bullit East Dec. 19-22. They open up with Bowling Green on the 19th, the 16-team tournament field consisting of Franklin County, Barren County, Madisonville-North Hopkins, Bullitt East, Boyd County, DuPont Manual, Bethlehem, Holy Cross, Meade County, Corbin, Owensboro Catholic, Cooper, McCracken County and Taylor County.
St. Henry
Boys – The Crusaders will play in the Sayre School-Jim Lankster Classic Dec. 20-22. They open with Bluegrass United, a homeschool out of Lexington on Dec. 20, play Sayre on the 21st and Green County on the 22nd. After Christmas, they have just one game scheduled, a home game against Ludlow on Dec. 27.
Girls – The Lady Crusaders play just one game prior to Christmas, Dec. 20 at Bracken County. After Christmas they’ll head to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to play in the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic Dec. 27-29. They do not have an opponent listed on the KHSAA website.
Villa Madonna
Boys – The Vikings play just one game the week before Christmas, a road game at Trinity Christian. They’ll then head to the Ray Zellar Christmas Classic at Whitefield Academy Dec. 27-29, opening up with Leslie County on the 27th. Other teams in the field are Cloverport, Eminence, Calvary Christian, Whitefield Academy, Trinity Christian and Cornerstone Christian.
Girls – the girls team will play just one game over Christmas break. Dec. 20 at Newport.
Walton-Verona
Boys – The Bearcats will play in the Carespring Holiday Classic Dec. 22-23 at Highlands. They play the Bluebirds on Dec. 22 and Eastern on the 23rd. After Christmas, the Bearcats will play in the Mason County Invitational Tournament Dec. 28-30, opening up the eight-team tournament with Augusta. Other teams in the field are Campbell County, Pike County Central, Scott, North Oldham, Tates Creek and Mason County.
Girls – The Lady Bearcats play two games prior to Christmas, a home game with Owen County on Dec. 19 and a road game at Scott County on Dec. 22.
