The Covington Catholic Colonels (5-0) hit the road in a battle of undefeated teams and took down the host Bracken County Polar Bears (4-1).
CovCath senior guard Evan Ipsaro, a Miami University (Ohio) commit, made 14-of-24 shots on his way to a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds.
CovCath shot 34 percent from the field including just 22 percent from three-point range. But the Colonels made 13 of 15 free throws for 87 percent and nabbed 34 rebounds. Junior guard Brady Hussey scored 15 points and senior guard Kascyl McGillis followed with 12.
Reed scored 23 points after coming into the game averaging just below 28 per game. Sophomore guard Cayden Reed scored 21 points with junior forward Austin Norton and sophomore guard Chase Archibald scoring 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Colonels face 35th District rival Holy Cross (4-1) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Indians (4-1) hit 37 of 70 shots for 53 percent including 10 of 23 from three-point range for 44 percent and 11 of 15 for 73 percent from the free-throw line to down the host Cardinals (3-3). Senior standout guard Jacob Meyer scored 37 points with senior guard Javier Ward and senior center Sam Gibson following with 28 and 14 points, respectively.
Holy Cross travels to Covington Catholic (4-1) on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
