The Campbell County Camels baseball team (2-1) downed the previously undefeated Mason County Royals (4-1), 4-0 in a early season 10th Region battle.
Sophomore pitcher Zach Franzen (1-0) threw a one-hit complete game striking out six and walking five. Franzen also pitched around two Camel errors.
Campbell County collected five hits with senior shortstop Aydan Hamilton recording a double. The Camels stole four bases with senior Noah Vincent swiping two.
Campbell County plays host to Wyandotte (Michigan) Roosevelt on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Simon Kenton 9, Scott 5
The host Pioneers (3-2) won the Kenton County rivalry game over the Eagles (1-4).
Junior Anthony Procaccino (1-0) picked up the win pitching the first four innings, striking out six and walking three. Senior Ben Stephens pitched the last three innings, picking up the save and striking out five.
The Pioneers tallied seven hits in the win. Senior designated hitter Dakota Brown went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs batted in and two runs scored. Junior shortstop Daniel Uhl went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Senior right fielder Ian Powell added a double with junior second baseman Evan Sheridan scoring twice and Stephens batting in three.
Scott committed five errors to two for Simon Kenton. The Pioneers had three unearned runs to two for the Eagles.
The Eagles also collected seven hits in the loss. Sophomore Brady Smith led the way going 2-for-3 with four RBI and junior infielder Gunner Bleha doubled.
Senior Blaise Huiet started for Scott, pitching three innings. Junior Porter Huston (0-1) pitched the fourth taking the loss and senior Casey Hilbert pitched the last two innings, striking out two.
Both teams play again Wednesday. Simon Kenton plays host to Boone County (2-3-1) at 5 p.m. Scott plays host to Walton-Verona (5-1) at 5:30 p.m.
