The Beechwood Tigers baseball team (3-1) took care of the Cooper Jaguars (0-3) in six innings in 9th Region action.
Beechwood hit .393 (11 for 28) overall compared to .190 (4 for 21) for Cooper. Junior third baseman Michael Detzel, senior center fielder Cameron Boyd and senior first baseman Torin O’Shea had two hits for the Tigers. Detzel doubled and drove in three with O’Shea scoring twice.
Junior right fielder Shawn Sowder and senior left fielder Landon Johnson added doubles. Johnson scored three times and sophomore shortstop Matthew Cottengim drove in three for Beechwood.
Senior Matthew Kappes (1-0) pitched the first four innings to pick up the win for Beechwood striking out five and allowing just two hits. Sophomore Chase Flaherty pitched the last two innings striking out two and allowing two hits, two walks and one earned run.
Junior Mark Nowak (0-2) pitched into the fourth for Cooper taking the loss striking out five, walking two and allowing seven hits and six earned runs. Juniors Grady Kreidler and Logan Farmer pitched in relief.
Beechwood plays host to Lloyd Memorial (0-1) on Monday at 5 p.m.

Trinity 3, Ryle 0
The Raiders (4-1) lost for the first time this year to the undefeated Shamrocks (7-0). Ryle managed just one hit in the game.
Senior TJ Schira (2-1) took the loss for Ryle pitching into the fourth inning striking out four, walking two and allowing just three hits and three earned runs. Sophomore Dylan McIntyre finished the game striking out three, walking five and allowing no hits.
Ryle plays host to Wyandotte (Michigan) Roosevelt on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
