As part of an ongoing $26 million construction project at Holmes High School, they cut the ribbon on their updated athletic facilities on Wednesday.
The athletic facilities feature a renovated weight room, football locker room and multi-purpose gymnasium. Included in the projects is a 50-yard turf run, batting cage and multi-purpose flooring.
It marked a significant breakthrough for the high school that was built in 1916, this being the first major renovation from that time.
The ribbon cutting comes on the heels of breaking ground on the new softball field at Glen O. Swing Elementary, a journey nearly seven years in the making.
