Some of the top stat performers in the state on the diamond hail from Northern Kentucky.
As of April 23, several from NKY are showing up on the statewide stats leaders in baseball and softball.
In baseball, Heritage Academy’s Elliot Kloss is 11th in batting average at .562, Calvary Christian’s Joshua Ruwe and Newport Central Catholic’s Ian Mann are tied for 14th at .545, Highlands’ Brooks Hendrix is 23rd at .522 and Campbell County’s Gavin Kremer is tied for 36th at .500.
Conner’s Brady Bushman and JJ Bagby are tied for fourth in homeruns with five, Walton-Verona’s Dustin Willis, Campbell County’s Gavin Kramer, Newport Central Catholic’s Henry Brooks and Bishop Brossart’s Keegan Gulley are tied for 18th with three.
In the hits department, Calvary Christian’s Joshua Ruwe and Beechwood’s Tyler Fryman are tied for third with 30 hits each, Campbell County’s Carson Clark is tied for 11th with 28 hits, Heritage Academy’s Elliot Kloss is tied for 20th with 27 hits and Conner’s Brady Bushman is tied for 50th with 24 hits.
Ryle’s Josh Caudill and Beechwood’s Tyler Fryman are tied for fourth with 11 doubles, Heritage Academy’s Austin Brown is tied for eighth with nine doubles and Ryle’s Dylan McIntyre is tied for 35th with seven doubles.
Cooper’s Drew Hartman, Calvary Christian’s Joshua Ruwe, Villa Madonna’s Luke Smith, Highlands’ Max McNay, Beechwood’s Tyler Fryman and Holmes’ Braxton Graves are tied for ninth with three triples.
Walks leaders include Campbell County’s Gavin Richardson and Villa Madonna’s Michael Calliioni tied for fifth with 19, Calvary Christian’s Finn Zachary, Heritage Academy’s Hunter Boswell and Covington Catholic’s Tyler Carnes tied for 23rd with 16 and Ludlow’s Jackson Mays tied for 38th with 15.
Slugging percentage leaders are Newport Central Catholic’s JT Mumper 18th at .913, his teammate Ian Mann 39th at .818, Beechwood’s Tyler Fryman tied for 39th at .815 and Heritage Academy’s Elliot Kloss 49th at .792.
RBI leaders are Heritage Academy’s Benjamin Brown in a tie for fourth with 26 and Calvary Christian’s Finn Zachary and Joshua Ruwe tied for 30th with 21.
For runs scored, Calvary Christian’s Luke Corbin is tied for ninth with 29 runs, teammate Joshua Ruwe right behind him in a tie for 13th with 28 runs. Campbell County’s Carson Clark is tied for 17th with 27 runs, Ryle’s Anthony Coppola and Beechwood’s Tyler Fryman in a tie for 23rd with 25 runs and Conner’s Brady Bushman is tied for 28th with 24 runs.
Heritage Academy’s Elliot Kloss leads the state in stolen bases with 36, teammate Hunter Boswell in a tie for fifth with 24 and Ryle’s Anthony Coppola tied for seventh with 23. Beechwood’s Tyler Fryman is tied for 10th with 21 swipes, Conner’s Brady Bushman tied for 17th with 20. Another Heritage stolen bases leader is Elan Forman with 19 and in a tie for 20th. Campbell County’s Carson Clark and Heritage Academy’s Austin Brown are tied for 23rd with 18. Bellevue’s Carson Scott is tied with Heritage Academy’s Benjamin Brown for 37th with 16 stolen bases.
In the pitching department, Scott’s Ty Cook is one of five pitchers in the state yet to allow an earned run and sporting a 0.00 ERA. Newport Central Catholic’s Mitchell Martin is the only other NKY pitcher in the top 50 in the state in ERA, tied for 48th with a 1.00 ERA.
For strikeouts, Ludlow’s Parker Trenkamp is tied for third with 58, Scott’s Ty Cook is tied for 11th with 51, Heritage Academy’s Elliot Kloss is tied for 13th with 49, Beechwood’s Chase Flaherty is tied for 17th with 47, Calvary Christian’s Joshua Ruwe is tied for 19th with 46, Walton-Verona’s Bronson Corpus and Villa Madonna’s Joe Rice are tied for 20th with 45, Calvary Christian’s Caleb Ruwe is tied for 24th with 44, Heritage Academy’s Benjamin Brown is tied for 33rd with 43, Campbell County’s Tyler Schumacher is tied for 44th with 40 and Covington Catholic’s Logan Wermuth is tied for 47th with 39.
Heritage Academy’s Austin Brown leads the state with seven wins, Campbell County’s Zach Franzen, Ludlow’s Parker Trenkamp, Calvary Christian’s Case Craddock, Beechwood’s Chase Flaherty and Conner’s JJ Bagby tied for 17th with four wins.
Campbell County’s William Peed is tied for the state lead with seven others with three saves, Simon Kenton’s Cash Hoard has two.
In innings pitched, Bishop Brossart’s Alex Noe is 15th with 32.2 innings logged, Ludlow’s Parker Trenkamp is tied for 20th with 31.2 innings, Beechwood’s Chase Flaherty is 33rd with 30 innings and Campbell County’s Zach Franzen is tied for 40th with 29.2 innings.
In the baseball team statistics statewide, Highlands is tied for fifth in batting average at .362, Heritage Academy is 20th at .339, Newport Central Catholic is 29th at .326, Beechwood is tied for 41st at .315 and Campbell County is tied for 44th at .312.
Team runs leaders are Heritage Academy eighth with 162, Highlands tied for 10th with 160, Beechwood tied for 16th with 156, Campbell County tied for 18th with 153, Walton-Verona 22nd with 149, Calvary Christian 28th with 143 and Conner tied for 41st with 133.
In the hits department, Highlands is second with 199, Campbell County is 12th with 163, Walton-Verona is 14th with 161, Beechwood is 22nd with 156, Newport Central Catholic is tied for 38th with 144 and Conner is tied for 40th with 143.

Beechwood and Cooper are tied for 14th with eight triples, Calvary Christian is tied for 23rd with six, Simon Kenton and Highlands are tied for 33rd with five.

In softball, Villa Madonna’s Cam Kratzer leads the state in batting average at .692. Kratzer is one of four in the top 11 in batting average for NKY athletes. Simon Kenton’s Myka Brown is third with a .683 average and tied for eighth with 11 doubles, Ludlow’s Shelby Ralston is fourth at .682 and Holmes’ Julia Starr is 11th at .636.
Dayton’s Emily Hall is 21st in batting average at .611. Her teammate McKenzie Sullivan is 26th at .591. Holmes Carlie Riley is 29th at .583, Simon Kenton’s Alli Fowler is 40th at .569 and Ryle’s Emily Gehring is 49th at .558. Fowler is also tied for 43rd in hits with 29.
Highlands’ Payton Brown is tied for 25th in home runs with seven. Brown is also tied for 28th in hits with 31 and tied for 22nd with nine doubles. Campbell County’s Josie Feebeck is tied for 30th in home runs with six, Feebeck’s teammate Hope Hamilton is tied for 39th in home runs with five.
Conner’s Averie Lightner is tied for 14th with 10 doubles, Highlands’ Allison Meyers is tied for 40th with eight doubles.
Highlands’ Bailee Class is tied for 17th in triples with four, Conner’s Breanna Meredith is tied for 37th in triples with three.
Villa Madonna has three of the top seven in the state in drawing walks, Chloe Cotton, Rosemary Rice and Madyson Ross are tied for seventh with 17 walks each. Bellevue’s Paulina Long and Virginia Meece are tied for 19th with 14 walks each, Bishop Brossart’s Rachel Shewmaker is tied for 31st with 13 walks.
Dixie Heights’ Sydney Schumacher is tied for the state lead in slugging percentage at 1.611. Simon Kenton’s Myka Brown is 13th in slugging percentage at 1.268, Shelby Ralston is 20th at 1.182, Highlands’ Payton Brown is 28th at 1.136, Campbell County’s Josie Feebeck is 30th at 1.125, Ryle’s Kiley Patterson is 37th at 1.081 and Dayton’s Emily Hall is tied for 47th at 1.000.
Villa Madonna’s Cam Kratzer is tied for fourth in RBI with 37. Highlands’ Payton Brown is 16th in RBI with 32, Holmes’ Julia Starr is tied for 18th in RBI with 31 and Simon Kenton’s Myka Brown is tied for 36th in RBI with 28.
Campbell County’s Josie Feebeck is tied for 42nd with 27 runs scored. Simon Kenton’s Alli Fowler is 50th with 26 runs scored.

Pitching-wise, Highlands’ Kaitlyn Dixon is tied for 23rd with a 1.41 ERA, Notre Dame’s Abby Turnpaugh is 33rd with a 1.89 ERA, Campbell County’s Addysen Griffin is tied for 43rd with a 2.10 ERA. Dixon is also fourth in strikeouts with 145, Turnpaugh is 20th with 105, Boone County’s Dani Wright is 21st with 103, Villa Madonna’s Cam Kratzer is tied for 31st with 94 strikeouts. Dixon is also tied for 14th in wins with 10, Bishop Brossart’s Anna Bezold is tied for 21st with nine wins and Ryle’s Laci DeLauder is tied for 45th with seven wins.

Dixon’s 89.1 innings pitched is the 12th most in the state, Bezold’s 86.2 innings are 17th and Cooper’s Lily Spraker’s 68.2 innings pitched is tied for 47th.
