The All “A” Classic state tournaments for baseball and softball will take place the weekend of April 27-28.
The baseball tournament will take place at Eastern Kentucky University with quarterfinal play on April 27, the semifinals and championship on April 28.
The softball tournament is at Jack C. Fisher Park in Owensboro with pool play on April 27, a single-elimination tournament to follow on April 28.

In baseball, Walton-Verona out of the 8th Region and Beechwood out of the 9th Region will need to win their sectional games first to advance to the state tournament. The Bearcats face Kentucky Country Day on Wednesday at home at 5:30 p.m. while the Tigers will travel to Brooksville and take on the Polar Bears Sunday at 1 p.m.
If Walton-Verona knocks off KCD, they’d take on Owensboro Catholic on April 27 at 10 a.m.
If Beechwood defeats Bracken County, they’d face Sayre on April 27 at 5:30 p.m.
Beechwood has won five All “A” state championships while Walton-Verona has reached the championship game once. The Tigers are currently 10-4 on the season while the Bearcats are 10-5.

In softball, Holy Cross was the lone team to make it out of region play in the coverage area and they’ll get underway with three pool play games on April 27 against Hancock County, Raceland and Somerset. In order to advance to Sunday’s single-elimination tournament, the Indians would have to finish in the top two of pool play.
The Indians are currently 5-3 on the season.
No softball team from Northern Kentucky has ever won the All “A” state tournament.
