The LINK nky Team of the Week for Nov. 13-19 presented by Ortho Cincy is the Covington Catholic football team.
The Colonels registered 55% of the vote, breaking away from the competition among the other three football teams nominated.
Earning Covington Catholic Team of the Week honors was their performance in the regional championship round of the KHSAA Class 4A playoffs with a 31-0 victory over Johnson Central on Nov. 17. The Colonels improved to 14-0 after a 22-14 victory over Paducah Tilghman on Nov. 24.

The Colonels won a regional championship after dismantling Johnson Central, 31-0.
Facing one of the state’s top rushing attacks from the Golden Eagles, CovCath shut it down as Johnson Central finished with 156 yards and the Colonels defense got a safety.
After a slow start offensively, the Evan Pitzer to Braylon Miller connection delivered for two touchdowns on the night. Pitzer finished with 187 yards passing, completing 14-of-21 attempts and three scores.
Miller had seven catches for 106 yards to go with the two touchdowns, Willie Rodriguez catching the other touchdown and adding 36 yards receiving. Owen Leen added 61 yards on the ground, Miller adding a score via the ground game.
Tate Kruer led the defensive effort with 10 tackles, Josh Flood with nine, JP Sullivan with seven and Ben Reeves six.
Johnson Central didn’t record a passing yard on six attempts.
The Colonels will make a trip to Kroger Field in Lexington on Friday when they take on Boyle County for the Class 4A championship at 8 p.m.
