The LINK nky Team of the Week for Oct. 23-29 presented by Ortho Cincy is the Beechwood girls cross country team.
The Tigers tallied over 1,000 votes and ran away from the pack, much like they did all season.
Earning Beechwood Team of the Week honors was their performance at the KHSAA Class A state cross country meet, winning their second consecutive state title.
BEECHWOOD GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
The Tigers were small-school royalty at the KHSAA Class A state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park on Oct. 28. They won their second straight team title over Lexington Christian, 41-69.
Beechwood placed five of its seven runners in the top 15 – sophomore Lily Parke in second (19:27.35), sophomore Nora Wilke in third (20:20.29), junior Isabel Ginter in 11th (20:43.31), junior Charli Gerrein in 13th (20:53.95); and junior Annie Harris in 15th (21:07.69).
It capped off a dominant season for Beechwood with an undefeated season, winning every meet they participated in with a full team.
