The Kentucky Golf Coaches Association released their All-Region teams recently to award the top players in their respective regions.

The teams were compiled based off their season tally of All-State points at tournaments throughout the year.

Covington Catholic’s Mitchell Gastright and Newport Central Catholic’s Caleb Eaglin were named boys Region Players of the Year in their respective regions, Gastright in Region 7, Eaglin in Region 8. Raiders coach William Zapp was the Coach of the Year in Region 7 while Highlands Bert Richey won Coach of the Year in Region 8. Zapp and Richey led their respective teams to regional titles this season.

Cooper’s Reagan Ramage won the girls Region 7 Player of the Year while Jaguars coach Joe Deters was the girls Region 7 Coach of the Year. Ramage won the Region 7 title while the Cooper girls were the team champs.

Making the boys All-Region 7 first team were: Gastright, St. Henry’s Ben Carter, Ryle’s Palmer McKelvey, St. Henry’s Will Carter and Ryle’s Paxton McKelvey.

Gastright was the Region 7 tournament winner this season while Ryle won the team title.

The boys All-Region 7 second team were: Ryle’s Tanner Lorms, St. Henry’s Will Hammond, Covington Catholic’s Ben Unkraut, and Villa Madonna’s Adan and Tyler Brandstetter.

The All-Region 8 boys first team were: Eaglin, Campbell County’s Talen Beane, Highlands’ Hank Shick, Harrison County’s David Korona and Bourbon County’s Parker Arnold.

Eaglin was the lone individual out of NKY to qualify for the state tournament in Bowling Green while Schick won the Region 8 title.

The boys All-Region 8 second team were: Bellevue’s TJ Sorrell, Harrison County’s John Combs, Grant County’s Ben Bosse, Bracken County’s Ben Parsons and Highlands’ Oliver Golden.

The girls All-Region 7 first team were: Ramage, Cooper’s Eva Maley and Kendall Brissey, Ryle’s Anika Okuda and Notre Dame’s Didi Jiradamkerng.

Ramage and Maley were first team All-State selections for their performances throughout the season. Ramage finished third in All-State points, Maley 10th. Okuda and Jiradamkerng qualified for the state tournament as individuals.

Brissey was a second team All-State selection, finishing 13th in All-State points.

The girls All-Region 7 second team were: Ryle’s Elizabeth Dickson, St. Henry’s Lexi McMillen, Dixie Heights’ Addison St. John, Conner’s Sofia Seals and Cooper’s Sydney Koenig.

Bishop Brossart’s Emma Laker made the girls All-Region 8 first team and qualified for the state tournament as an individual.
