Cooper’s girls golf team is entering the postseason on a high note as they currently sit in second of the Kentucky girls golf All-State standings.
The Jaguars have played in 13 tournaments this season and collected 1,115 points. The All-State formula takes a team’s top seven finishes in tournament play, Cooper with 680 points in those, only 20 points behind Sacred Heart in first place.
The top 15 teams and 21 individuals not on those teams play in the KGCA All-State Tournament at UK Golf Club starting on Saturday in a 36-hole tournament.
Cooper’s Reagan Ramage is third in the individual All-State points standings with 620 points. Jaguars Eva Maley and Kendall Brissey are fifth and sixth in the standings.
Ryle’s Anika Okuda, Notre Dame’s Didi Jiradamkerng and Bishop Brossart’s Emma Laker are among the top 21 individuals not on the top 15 teams that will be participating in the tournament.
St. Henry’s boys team is 10th in the standings and have qualified for the boys KGCA All-State Tournament that also begins on Saturday. Newport Central Catholic’s Caleb Eaglin is 16th in the All-State Standings and will be competing individually. Covington Catholic’s Mitchell Gastright and Campbell County’s Talen Beane have also qualified as the 21 individuals not in the top 15 teams.
Region tournaments across the state begin on Monday. The boys in regions seven and eight feature all the NKY schools. Region 7 boys tournament is at Boone Links while Region 8 boys is at AJ Jolly. The girls regional tourney follow on Tuesday. Region 7 is at Pioneer Golf Course at Kenton County Golf Course and Region 8 is at Houston Oaks.
