The Conner Cougars (24-11 overall) downed the Beechwood Tigers (23-7), 12-9 at Great American Ballpark.
Conner batted .486 (17-for-35) overall. Senior Jeffery Vest went 2-for-2 with a double, triple, three runs batted in and scored once. Senior right fielder Brayden Stidham went 2-for-2 with one run batted in and senior outfielder Jackson Bucks went 2-for-2 with a double and scored once. Junior Dylan Hart and senior Logan Tucker added triples with seniors Ayden Lohr and Oliver Kerns adding doubles.
The Cougars used seven different pitchers with Kerns (3-1) taking the win. The seven combined to strike out five and walk four allowing six earned runs. Conner made two errors behind them.
Beechwood batted .276 (8-for-29) overall. Sophomore Keagan Hutton led the way going 2-for-2 with one run batted in. Seniors Cameron Boyd and Josh Schmidt had doubles. Schmidt, senior Ben Meier and sophomore Caleb Steine had two RBI each.
The Tigers used six different pitchers with senior Matt Kappes (7-1) taking the loss. They combined to strike out seven, walk six and allow 12 earned runs as Beechwood made no errors behind them.
Conner faces Cooper (8-23) in the 33rd District semifinals at Boone County on Saturday at 3 p.m. Beechwood takes on either Covington Latin (2-8) or Holmes (4-24) in the 34th District semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Pioneers (23-10) concluded the regular season with a home 8th Region win over the Titans (20-14).
Junior Noah Hinton pitched a complete game for Simon Kenton striking out two, walking one and allowing just two hits. The Pioneers made three errors behind him.
The Pioneers batted .208 (5 for 24) overall. Junior Bailey Rump had a double to lead the way.
Simon Kenton scored the game’s lone run in the bottom of the fourth. Junior designated hitter Logan Cones reached on an error and junior catcher Chad Atchley singled him to second. With one out, senior third baseman Gavin Riley grounded out moving Cones and Atchley up one base before senior center fielder Ben Stephens singled to score Cones for the unearned run.
Simon Kenton takes on Williamstown (16-12) in the 32nd District semifinals Sunday at Walton-Verona at 2:30 p.m.
