Boys 34th District Tournament (at St. Henry)
Monday: Villa Madonna 59, Ludlow 56
The Vikings got a defensive stand late as they avenged two regular season losses to the Panthers in advancing to Wednesday’s 34th District Tournament semifinals to face Lloyd Memorial.
Henry Thole led Villa with 38 points and 14 rebounds, making 16-of-25 shots from the field. Over the last four games, Thole has scored 145 points and grabbed 57 rebounds.
Ludlow had defeated Villa 81-66 on Jan. 3 and 72-49 on Jan. 27.

Boys 33rd District Tournament (at Cooper)
Monday: Ryle 75, Heritage Academy 56
The Raiders had 12 different players score overwhelming the Eagles (17-11) in the first round of the 33rd District Tournament at Cooper.
Junior forward/guard Logan Verax led the way with 15 points. Junior forward/guard Evan Smith had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds with junior center/forward Grady Reynolds tallying 12 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double.
Heritage Academy had seven different players score. Sophomore Landon Warner led the way with 24 points. The Eagles have no seniors on the team.

Wednesday: Ryle (10-17) vs Conner (18-7), 6 p.m., Cooper (14-12) vs Boone County (5-19), 7:45 p.m.

Boys 36th District Tournament (at Highlands)
Monday: Bellevue 64, Dayton 49
Noah Frommeyer led the Tigers with with 20 points, three others in double figures, Jackson Fornash adding 13 points, Curtis Rust and Zach Mertens with 10 points each.
Eric Solano led Dayton with 14 points, Mason Johnson with 13 points and Landon Hopper chipping in 11 points.
Bellevue used a 13-6 second quarter to jump out to a 28-21 halftime lead and outscored the Greendevils 20-14 in the fourth to pull away.
Bellevue moves on to Wednesday’s semifinals to face Newport. Dayton’s season ends with a 10-20 record.

Wednesday: Newport (23-6) vs Bellevue (13-15), 6 p.m., Highlands (22-8) vs Newport Central Catholic (11-18), 8 p.m.
Friday: Championship, 7 p.m.
Girls Basketball
34th District Tournament (at St. Henry)
Monday: Ludlow 64, Villa Madonna 28
The Panthers advanced to the district semifinals with a sound win over the Vikings (4-26).
Ludlow had three players score in double figures. Senior guard Mylee Garrett scored 19 to lead the way and freshman sister guard Addy Garrett scored 15. Junior guard Olivia King added 12.
Villa Madonna has just one senior in Sydney Agriesti. She led the Vikings with seven points.

Girls 36th District Tournament (at Highlands)
Monday: Bellevue 54, Dayton 51
Bellevue advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals with a tight win over Dayton on Monday. Trailing 46-42 going into the fourth, the Tigers outscored Dayton 12-5 to move on.
Sydni Massey led Bellevue with 29 points. Jayda Dowell adding 11 points.
Dayton’s Zoe Sparks had 25 in the loss, McKenzie Sullivan chipping in 11. Dayton’s season ends at 8-23.
Tuesday: Highlands (21-8) vs Bellevue (18-13), 6 p.m., Newport (11-14) vs Newport Central Catholic (16-9), 7:45 p.m.
