BELLEVUE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM

The Tigers got off to their first 3-0 start since the 2011-12 season with two wins over Covington Latin (68-34) and Villa Madonna (51-47) after opening the season in the prior week with a win over Calvary Christian (57-20).
The win over Villa Madonna was their first since 2018, snapping a string of nine straight losses to the Vikings.
Noah Frommeyer and Zach Mertens were key in both victories, Frommeyer averaging 20 points per game in the two contests, Mertens averaging 13 points and six rebounds.
SIMON KENTON ARCHERY TEAM

The Simon Kenton High School archery team picked up their third and fourth win in as many tournaments this season at the Calvary Christian Fall Classic and the 13th Annual Twenhofel Winter Tournament.
The Pioneers edged out Pendleton County by two points with a score of 3,270-3,268 at the Calvary Christian Fall Classic and 3,288 at the Twenhofel, beating Conner by 46.
They were led by Logan Sizemore at the Calvary tournament, who posted a score of 292 and hitting 23 tens. Following Sizemore was Emma Vicars with a 288 and 19 tens. Macie Smith notched a 286 and 19 tens, the three finished in the top four.
Sizemore also led the way at the Twenhofel with a 290, Vicars right behind him with a 289. Derek Laws arched a 281, Smith with a 278.
The team has also won the Notre Dame Panda Academy Tournament and the Scott High School Thanksgiving Shootout.
RYLE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM

The Raiders bounced back from an 0-2 start to the season to go 2-0 in the second week of the season in wins over Holmes (69-44) and Lloyd Memorial (56-51).
The win over Holmes was first year head coach Nick Dorning’s first with the Raiders.
They did it with balance as three different players averaged double figures in the two contests, led by Brayden Deatherage with 13.5 points in the two contests. Landon Lorms put up 12.5 points and Anthony Coppola posted 11.5 points per game.
The Raiders have been impressive defensively, allowing 54 points or less in three of four contests.
