Beechwood once again found themselves on the right end of a special teams play, the Cardinals missing an extra point with 1:13 to play. Beechwood was able to run out the clock from there to win their third straight state title.
Sophomore quarterback Clay Hayden threw for 116 yards and a touchdown, sophomore running back Chase Flaherty rushing for 115 yards and rushing touchdown.
Senior linebacker Austin Waddell was named MVP of the game.
Beechwood finished its season at 14-1.
SIMON KENTON LADY PIONEERS BASKETBALL TEAM

BISHOP BROSSART BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM

The Mustangs are off to their best start since the 2013-14 season as they went 4-0 in the first week of the year.
Traditionally a low-scoring and grind it out on offense type of team, Bishop Brossart kept the scoreboard operator busy in averaging 82 points per game in wins over Villa Madonna, Newport, Holmes and Ludlow.
The Mustangs had five players average at least 8.5 points per game in their first season under Ben Franzen, a former assistant at Covington Catholic. Logan Woosley led the way with 20.2 points per game, followed by Brandon Bezold with 17.5, Mason Sepate 12.5, Luke Schumacher 9.5 and Anthony Kruse 8.5.
JD KILLED BATMAN

Hey, we did say we’ll take nominations from any and all teams, so why not some fantasy football?
This submitter sent in JD Killed Batman’s fantasy football team in their Yahoo Fantasy Football league.
With a resounding week 13 win in fantasy football, John Doyle manager of “JD Killed Batman” scored 141.6 points to launch himself into contention for the final playoff spot. Doyle scored the most points of any team in week 13. This is the first time in his miserable life that he did so.
