Senior Takes Home Another Individual Honor

Sam Vinson added a prestigious award to his list after leading the Highlands Bluebirds boys basketball team to the first state championship in school history.

Vinson earned the Gatorade Player of the Year honors for Kentucky. Vinson averaged 22.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Vinson is taking his talents to Northern Kentucky University.

The Bluebirds finished 30-4 overall winning 21 games on their way to the title. They also won their first 9th Region title since 2001 and second straight 36th District Tournament title. Vinson won the state tournament MVP honors as well.
