St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky Brings Warmth to Neighbors with Free Winter Coat Distributions

St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky (SVdP NKY) will give away hundreds of new and gently used coats at four community events in Covington, Florence and Newport, beginning Saturday, Nov. 14, as part of the 26th Annual Winter Coat Drive. SVdP NKY distributed more than 1,650 coats across the region last year.

“For families who are already making difficult choices to cover rent, utilities, groceries, and other basic needs, a winter coat can feel like an expense that simply has to wait,” said Karen Zengel, Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky. “Our coat drive helps ease that burden by making sure our neighbors have something warm to wear without asking families to choose between a coat and another essential need. It’s a simple gift, but it can bring comfort, dignity, and the reassurance that their community cares about them.”

This year’s drive is generously supported by Arlinghaus Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Electric, whose Erlanger headquarters is also a collection site.

“At Arlinghaus, it is our mission to give back to the community that has supported our team and their families,” said Madalyn Reller, Marketing Director at Arlinghaus Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electric. “Supporting St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky’s Winter Coat Drive program aligns perfectly with our overall mission of making every house a happy house. We’re proud to partner with such a dedicated organization and grateful to play a small role in helping families stay warm and comfortable during the cold winter months.”
