Erlanger Councilwoman Renee Wilson thanks local leaders and volunteers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ERLANGER, KY — October 2026 — Erlanger Councilwoman Renee Wilson extends heartfelt gratitude to the Kenton County Soil & Water Conservation District, Board Supervisor and U.S. Marine Veteran Kentucky Colonel Larry Owen, community leader Kentucky Colonel Serena Owen, and Thomas More University’s Saints Serve students and staff for their extraordinary community service.
During Thomas More University’s biannual Saints Serve Day, volunteers demonstrated compassion in action, filling two truckloads with trash while beautifying Elsmere’s historic Mary E. Smith Memorial Cemetery.
“These amazing volunteers honored our ancestors, preserved our community’s history, and reminded us that every act of kindness matters!” Wilson shared.
Wilson also celebrates ongoing partnerships fighting hunger. Since 2020, Larry Owen, Serena Owen, and Renee Wilson have organized monthly fresh produce distributions with the Cincinnati Freestore Foodbank and tri-state farmers, providing thousands of pounds of nutritious food to more than 500 individuals and families monthly. Larry additionally delivers food to seniors and neighbors lacking transportation.
Wilson extends special appreciation and many thanks to Erlanger’s Westwood family and dedicated volunteers for organizing the annual Chelsea Ryann’s Festival of Hope at Lloyd Memorial High School. Created in loving memory of Chelsea Ryann Westwood, this heartfelt, family-friendly celebration brings students, families, and neighbors together through fun activities, mental health awareness, suicide prevention education, and access to vital resources.
“The Westwood family’s courage in transforming heartbreak into hope is an extraordinary gift to our community,” Wilson expressed. “Their dedication reminds every student and family that they matter, they are loved, and they are never alone.”
“Whether preserving history, feeding families, or promoting mental wellness, these community heroes embody the true meaning of service. Many thanks and God’s blessings to everyone!”
