East Bend of the Ohio by Gary Akers

Well-known local artist, Gary Akers of Union, painted the above scene, titled East Bend of the Ohio, for a local couple who have since anonymously gifted the work after downsizing to ACUE (Alliance for Catholic Urban Education). The framed egg tempura painting is 45.5“ x 30.5“. Proceeds from the sale of the painting will benefit tuition assistance for children who attend the urban elementary (ACUE) schools of the Diocese of Covington.

Mr. Akers is appreciated for his depictions of Kentucky rural scenes and landmarks; his prints sell for $1,000 and his originals by multiples of this amount. A work of this size by this artist is typically valued in the tens of thousands.
