Simon Kenton High School senior Alexis Howard continues to make her mark as one of Kentucky’s top track and field athletes, capturing multiple regional championships and earning national recognition in the long jump.
Howard claimed the 2026 KHSAA Region 3 Indoor State Championship titles in both the long jump long jump (18-7.25) and triple jump (37-4.25), showcasing her versatility and dominance in the jumping events. Her performance builds on a strong history of success, including the 2025 KHSAA Region 3 Indoor State Championship in the long jump and the 2024 KHSAA Outdoor State Championship in the long jump.
Competing against some of the nation’s top athletes, Howard also delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 AAU Junior Olympics, placing 7th in the long jump. Her consistent results on the national stage have helped her achieve a national ranking of No. 62 in the long jump. Alexis will be competing at the New Balance National Indoor 2026 meet, 3/13-3/14, as unattached.
Howard’s accomplishments reflect years of dedication, discipline, and elite athletic performance. As she concludes her senior season at Simon Kenton High School, she continues to raise the standard for the program and inspire younger athletes across the region.
With multiple regional titles, national competition experience, and a top-100 national ranking, Howard stands among the most accomplished jumpers in Kentucky high school track and field. As a senior, Howard continues to attract attention from collegiate track and field programs across the country. While she has received several college offers, she has not yet announced a commitment and plans to evaluate her options as she completes her final high school season.
