FORT THOMAS, KENTUCKY, February 5, 2026 – This Valentine’s season, the City of Fort Thomas is spreading the love through two community-focused efforts: a new Love Local initiative supporting small businesses and a February food drive benefiting local families.
In partnership with the Fort Thomas Business Council, the City developed the Love Local initiative to encourage residents to support local businesses during the slower winter months. While Fort Thomas regularly highlights local businesses on social media, Love Local offers a new way for the entire community to participate.
Throughout February, residents are invited to share why they love their favorite Fort Thomas businesses. “I Love Local” postcards are available at local businesses and at the City Building. Participants can write a note to their favorite business and drop the postcard off at the City Building for a chance to win a local prize. A winner will be drawn on Fort Thomas’ birthday, February 27.
Those who prefer to participate online can post at their favorite local business on social media and use #FortThomasKY to be entered to win.
The City of Fort Thomas is also hosting a food drive during the month of February to support the Brighton Center’s Emergency Choice Food Pantry. Collection barrels are located at the Fort Thomas Fire Department, inside the City Building by the Police Department, at the Armory with Parks & Recreation, and one is at the Fort Thomas branch of the Campbell County Public Library. The Emergency Choice Food Pantry helps feed many local families each week. Donations of non-perishable foods and personal care items are welcome
Fort Thomas is committed to supporting its local businesses and sharing the love for the community. For more information on how to participate in Love Local or the food drive, contact Savannah at skrift@ftthomas.org.
