Known for her fearless comedy and sharp cultural commentary, Sam Jay is the host and executive producer of HBO’s late-night series Pause with Sam Jay. Her highly anticipated stand-up special, Sam Jay: Salute Me or Shoot Me, premieres on HBO on September 23.
Sam recently starred opposite Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Netflix’s You People, and co-created and appeared in Peacock’s acclaimed comedy series Bust Down alongside Langston Kerman, Jak Knight, and Chris Redd. A two-time Emmy and WGA Award nominee for her writing on Saturday Night Live, Sam has also written for the Primetime Emmy Awards, BET Awards, and MTV Movie & TV Awards.
In addition to her groundbreaking work on television, Sam’s stand-up has earned international recognition with performances at major festivals including Just For Laughs, Dublin Comedy Festival, and New York Comedy Festival. She was named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch in 2018, following her critically acclaimed Netflix special Sam Jay: 3 in the Morning and her breakout Comedy Central Presents half-hour.
