Miami University Student, and Kentucky Native Jada Kramer Named 2025 Recipient of the Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship
Columbus, OH — [May 30, 2025] — Miami University student and Kentucky native Jada Kramer has been named the inaugural recipient of the Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak, a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, where she studied Intelligence and Analysis Research and excelled as a standout lacrosse player. Fluent in both Spanish and Arabic, Jennifer aspired to work for an agency like HIDTA (High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) to combat illegal drug trafficking in the United States. Her promising future was tragically cut short when she lost her life in a crash caused by a cannabis-impaired driver.
Established by Jennifer’s mother, Corinne LaMarca, the scholarship supports rising juniors and seniors in Ohio who are pursuing degrees in prevention, public health, criminal justice, or related fields. Recipients must demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to societal impact—qualities that Jada exemplifies across her academic and professional journey.
Currently pursuing a dual major in Public Health (Policy) and Psychology with a minor in Gerontology, Jada maintains a 4.0 GPA and is part of Miami’s prestigious Prodesse Scholars Program. Her passion for prevention and advocacy shines through in her work as a Mental Health Peer Educator, Undergraduate Research Assistant, and Chief of Staff for Miami University’s ASPIRE office, where she coordinates student advocacy efforts at the state and national levels.
“Jada represents exactly the kind of changemaker this scholarship was created to support,” said LaMarca. “Jennifer believed deeply in justice and making a difference in people’s lives. It’s incredibly meaningful to see that legacy continue through Jada’s work.”
In addition to her academic achievements, Jada has interned with PreventionFIRST!, supporting community coalitions with substance misuse prevention strategies, and will study diplomacy and human rights across Europe in 2025, engaging with international courts and NGOs. Her research on mental health stigma and her leadership in suicide prevention education reflect a deep, ongoing commitment to improving lives and systems.
The Jennifer Corinne Hrobuchak Endowed Scholarship provides financial support directly toward tuition and fees, ensuring students like Jada can continue their education and community impact. Jada was formally recognized at a special ceremony at Miami University on May 13, 2025.
Through this scholarship, Jennifer’s memory lives on—inspiring the next generation of leaders dedicated to creating safer, healthier communities across Ohio and beyond.
