Announcing the Northern Kentucky Youth Choirs – a regional choir serving people ages 5 (reading) to 17.
NKYYC offers a different experience from other excellent area regional choirs because we:
– Work collaboratively with school and church children’s choir programs in addition to our own concerts and Services
– Focus on learning the structure of Roman Catholic Liturgies (Mass, Vespers, Benediction, etc.)
– Focus on secular and Ecumenical music

In addition to learning heritage, Chant, and contemporary sacred music, children will learn music of vastly different styles including Gospel and Jewish traditions, and the major classical composers. They will also learn to sing in at least one or two other languages, learn history, even STEM topics. Instruction in piano, organ, and other instruments is planned for future seasons.
NKYYC takes as its model the Notre Dame (University) Children’s Choir. Both choirs seek to regain the primacy of well-trained children’s voices in concerts and Liturgy.
The mission of the Regional Children’s Choir of Northern Kentucky is to train the next generation of musicians and to develop each child’s musicianship, musical literacy, sense of leadership, and teamwork.
